A Message to Health Care Providers

MySelfHelp.com, funded and supported by the National Institute of Mental Health, was developed by a team of highly experienced and reputable healthcare professionals. Our interactive self-help services, available 24 hours a day, have been designed to support and enhance the treatment services you provide.

We know that many of the people you treat are likely to be struggling with more than one mental health problem. That is why we are developing programs that will address the full spectrum of psychological difficulties. For just $20 a month, members have unlimited access to an ever-growing family of programs, thereby enabling them to work on a broad range of symptoms and issues.

Make Us a Part of Your Treatment Team

All MySelfHelp.com programs are designed as adjuncts to treatment.  Our programs support the use of both medication and psychotherapy by:

  • Addressing the needs of members at all levels of insight and readiness for change, ranging from clients who are still questioning their diagnoses, to those who are fully engaged in the recovery process

  • Allowing you to monitor progress through daily and weekly user logs and journals, exercise results, and system-generated charts

  • Reinforcing coping strategies, alternative ways of thinking, and new behavioral skills introduced in your treatment sessions

  • Prompting completion of self-help assignments through the use of reminders

  • Providing a more accurate account of events and experiences by allowing users to enter information into the system in real time, while symptoms or episodes are occurring

  • Encouraging members to seek appropriate treatments and helping them overcome misconceptions about psychotherapy and medication

  • Encouraging members who are in treatment to disclose sensitive information directly to their providers, particularly involving high-risk symptoms and behaviors

  • Ensuring the confidentiality, anonymity, and safety of our members

We have developed “Clinician Tip Sheets” for each of our programs. The Tip Sheets identify the parts of the programs that can be used to address specific treatment goals. By employing these tip sheets, you can help your patients/clients use the program in ways that mesh most effectively with the treatment you are providing. To view the Clinician Tip Sheets, please click the links to the right of this paragraph.
