News and Press Releases Dr. Bedrosian Presents Symposium On Integrating Computer Applications With Clinical Practice July 26, 2004 - Dr. Richard Bedrosian, president and founder of MySelfHelp.com, chaired a symposium titled "Integrating Computer Applications With Everyday Clinical Practice" at the Annual Convention of the American Psychological Association in Honolulu, Hawaii. As part of the symposium, he presented a paper entitled, "Helping Clinicians Make Interactive Self-help Programs Part of Treatment'. The paper described efforts to help psychotherapists become more familiar with MySelfHelp.com programs, such as providing “Tip Sheets” describing how to use the programs to achieve specific treatment goals. Dr. Bedrosian noted that downloads of “Tip Sheets” occur 300 times per month, indicating that professionals are now incorporating the programs into treatment. Dr. Bedrosian also described program changes being made in response to feedback from both members and healthcare professionals. Dr. B. Hudnall Stamm, from the Institute of Rural Health, Idaho State University, Pocatello, ID, also presented a paper, titled “Disseminating A Professional Toolbox To Support Isolated Providers”, which described various online programs used to assist healthcare providers in rural Idaho. Dr. Debra Larsen, also from the Institute of Rural Health at Idaho State University, served as discussant.
